Recently, we have heard quite an uproar on social media about plus size clothing and the problems that plus size women encounter when shopping for clothes. In recent years, clothing companies have made more of an effort to include plus size clothing, however, there are still many unresolved issues with these departments. Most of the time, plus size clothes are not available for purchase in stores. When ordering online, it is difficult to know if the item will fit and in most occasions clothing is too large or too small. When plus size clothes are made available for in store purchase, there is a limited amount of clothing which is usually not up to date with trends, almost as if to say, “You’re fat, you can’t wear the cute clothes until you’ve lost enough weight.” This mentality is unacceptable and we must change the way the world views plus size women. Who better than the world’s first size 22 supermodel? Tess Holliday was recently featured on the front cover of People magazine. She is an advocate for plus size women and is not afraid to show off her body. Tess Holliday is paving the way for plus size women and encouraging them to love their own bodies. We love what Tess Holliday is doing as a super model and we hope that women around the world can gain more confidence as they see her strut her stuff! You can watch Tess in the video below as she and two other women try on “plus size” clothing ordered for them online. Let us know what you think and comment down below!
